The Care Quality Commission’s (CQC’s) annual assessment of the state of health and social care in England found that; This year – the assessment is that the health and care system is gridlocked and unable to operate effectively.

How are people supported to live healthier lives, have access to healthcare services and receive ongoing healthcare support?

How well do staff, teams and services within and across organisations work together to deliver effective care, support and treatment?

How does your service make sure that staff have the skills, knowledge and experience to deliver effective care and support?

The assessment framework is built on the CQC’s five key questions and well-known ratings system and is what they will use to set out their view of quality and make judgements.

Are people’s needs and choices assessed and care, treatment and support delivered in line with current legislation, standards and evidence-based guidance to achieve effective outcomes?
