Simon is a Registered Mental Health Nurse and senior health and social care improvement consultant with more than 20 years’ NHS experience. He brings extensive expertise in regulatory improvement, quality and governance, service turnaround, patient safety and leadership development.

As an Associate Consultant with LSW Care Solutions, Simon supports organisations experiencing regulatory, operational or quality challenges, helping leaders identify the underlying causes of concern and put practical, sustainable improvement plans in place.

Simon spent seven years as a Senior Consultant Adviser with NHS England, leading complex improvement programmes with large mental health providers, including organisations subject to regulatory intervention and enforcement action. He has a strong track record of supporting organisations through significant improvement journeys, working closely with executive teams, boards and regulators to strengthen governance, improve operational performance and patient safety, and embed sustainable change.

Prior to NHS England, Simon held senior operational and nursing leadership positions within NHS provider Trusts. He has direct experience of leading community and inpatient services from CQC ratings of Requires Improvement to Good, giving him a practical understanding of the leadership, governance, culture and operational systems required to deliver safe, effective and high-quality services.

His approach combines clinical credibility with robust analysis and a practical understanding of the pressures facing health and social care leaders.

Simon holds an MSc in Mental Health Services and Population Research from King’s College London, a CMI Level 7 qualification in Leadership Coaching and Mentoring, and PRINCE2 Practitioner accreditation. He is an experienced coach and national presenter who works confidently with frontline teams, senior leaders, executive boards and stakeholders to translate complex challenges into clear, achievable improvement.
